As indicated by our name, our Sports Studio specializes in sports-related items. We cover a much of the world of sports in glass art. We do fully framed scenes and boxes with reproductions of fine past art and customer-supplied pictures, as well as upright scenes. They're all one-of-a-kind and a joy to give or get! Fine stained glass scenes adds a special highlight to any room. Prices depend on size and complexity of the art. These have a zinc metal frame and are ready for hanging. We work away from ideas or a picture and provide a sketch for approval.

Sport scene boxes.
We specialize in making stained glass boxes with reproductions of sporting scenes in the lid. Fine art of an earlier age is married to stained glass boxes to provide an 'antique' appearance that compliments any room where the subject is appropriate. You'll marvel at how such a unique work fits in with your decor. Each box is hand crafted in our own studio in a 28 step process. The glass selected for the base truly complements and adds to the subject, giving the resulting combination a special feel. Structured glass bottoms add highlight while corner feet add interest. A fine chain anchors the lid. We also can work away from your personal pictures to achieve special effects.

The usual boxes are 4"x6" by 1.3" high but can be any desired size. Shown below are a variety of boxes. The price for a single 4"x6" box is $60 incl. S&H. The same price applies to boxes made from your pictures. Your originals are returned with your ordered box.

A series of boxes shown on the left were made for the American Saddle Horse Museum in Lexington, KY with their reproductions. The box on the right is one of a horsewoman painted about 1915. The combination of the fine art and stained glass makes for special objects with 'antique' effects.

Sports scene box varieties.

The studio has a wide variety of sports scenes available for the lids of boxes. Subjects include fox hunts, polo, football, harness racing, steeplechase, equestrian events, horsewomen and wonderful animal scenes, another specialty of ours. Thumbnail pictures of examples are shown below, including one showing how football looked in 1914. And remember if you have a favorite picture, we can make that into a treasured keepsake box for you.

Upright scenes

The Studio does upright scenes in glass for many sports-related subjects. These stand on their own and are 16" wide x 8-10" high x 3" deep. Uprights are very stable and open in the back for light enhancement. The base in the back is set up to add candle light if desired. These normally are priced at $150 with S&H (US).
